Prof. GRAHAM HUGHES
gave a presentation about
’30 years of Lupus and Lupus Education’

His Biography • Consultant Rheumatologist, Head of London Lupus Centre. Professor Graham Hughes trained and qualified at The London Hospital. Professor Hughes set up the first Lupus Clinic in Europe back in 1973, he’s currently the Head of London Lupus Centre. In 1983, he described a clotting disorder bearing his name, we now know it as Antiphospholipid Syndrome. Professor Hughes is the founder and editor of the International Journal LUPUS, and famous in the Lupus world.

Prof. Hughes har virkeligt gjort en forskel for rigtig mange med lupus som ofte også har et andet problem antiphosfolid syndrom. For det første at finde ud af og så at kunne behandle dette syndrom, så risikoen for blodpropper reduceres. Vi ved, at alene det at have lupus øger betydeligt risikoen for blodpropper, med syndromet oveni er man meget udsat.

En ting mere rigtig mange med dette syndrom oplevede, var den ene spontane abort efter den anden, fordi blodpropper stoppede for de livsnødvendige næringsstoffer til fosteret.
